PHONE: 985.7383 Port Perry Council News Minutes of a regular meeting of Council of the Village of Port Perry held in the Municipal Of- fice on Wednesday, July 15th, | 1964, 7.30 p.m. The Reeve was authorized to proclaim Monday, August 3rd, 1964, Civie Holiday, as a Public Holiday for the Village of Port Perry. WEEDS on Lots--Mr. J. C. Brethour, Weed Inspeetor for the County was in signed the necessary orders for "the Village to proceed with cut- ting of weeds on private lots and the matter seems to be un- der control. Apparently other Municipalities are working in this same manner, The Clerk was instructed to have the Works Dept. take care of the cutting of weeds on pri- vate properties that have been complained of. REQUEST to purchase Lot 10 Graham subdivision, being the property of the Corporation of the Village of Port Perry. The Deputy-Reeve questioned the action taken in this matter and the Clerk reported that he had been instructed to write a letter to Council requesting that the sale of this lot be held until the Planning Board decided if it should be retained for a street. The Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Graham that the matter will be given immediate attention as soon as a meeting can be arranged for Council and the Planning Board since there are other matters concerning the installing of services in pro- posed subdivisions to be dis- cussed. DEPUTATIONS: Mr. Bruce Mackey, with his clients Mr. and Mrs. Mel Gerrow ,appeared be- fore Council to discuss. an agreement re the proposed Ger- row subdivision. It was pointed out to the de- putation that some changes would have to be made in the agreement such as: (a) The owner would have to pay for watermains and road construction. (b) That the specifications for the building of the roads & watermains should be put in the agreement in detail. (¢) That the cost of widen- ing the road to the required width would have to be borne by the sub-divider. "(d) Also the 5% or lot to be given to the Village of Port Perry should be specified in the . agreement. Mr. Mackey suggested the in- stalling of the services by Lo- cal Improvement since it would be easier to finance and that he would check into the legality of the Village charging for these services for roads already existing on the Town Plan. It was decided that a joint meeting be called of Council and the Planning Board to de- cide on a definite policy con- cerning the installing of the ser- vices and the development of old unimproved roads on the ex- isting plan.
