Love of R.R. 1, Whitby, oc- cured in Oshawa General Hos- pital, Aug. 4th, after a pro- longed illness. Mrs. Love was in her 57th year, Born in Man- illa, Ont., Alice Georgiana Love daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Love, she married Lawrence L. Love in Toronto in 1930. The union was bless- ed with two children, Charles of Whitby ,and Myra (Mrs. L. Brown) of Whitby. Left to mourn her passing are her hus- band, son Charles, daughter, Mrs. L. Brown, A brother Ted of Saskatchewan, three sisters Mrs. R. Cairns, Toronto, Mrs. James Bailey, Toronto, Mrs. R. Till, Greenbank, and five grandchildren. A sister Mrs. R. Holton of Chicago, Ill, pre- deceased her in October, 1963. Mrs. Love was a member of St. Mark's United Church, Whitby. The funeral was held at W. C. Town Funeral Home, Whitby, August 6th ,at 2 p.m. Rev. J. Smith of St. Mark's United Church conducted the service. Interment in Mount Lawn Ce- metery, Oshawa. Rice's ser- mon, Mr. R., Edwards from the Utica - Epsom pastoral charge rendered a lovely solo which was much appreciated. Friday evening a group of relatives and interested friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Roy Hope to hon- our their son Ronald and his new bride. Interesting and pretty slides were run-off, com- prising high-lights of the wed- ding. Christine Williamson and Linda Hunter provided piano solos. At this time the happy bride and groom were presen- ted with a star clock, hostess chair and cash for which the recipients thanked for the gift. A liberal lunch was served to all who were present. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Davidson, Jr., were in Sudbury attending the funeral of Mrs. Davidson's father, the late Mr. St. Martin. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jack- son of Brooklin vjsited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wilson and boys. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson have been enjoying 'cottage' life at each of the following, the Mr. and Mrs. Scott's of Oshawa, with the Ingleton's at Twelve Mile Lake and with the Mr, and Mrs. Jack Gibson's at T. Lake. Mrs. Silas Reynolds, of Port Perry accompanied Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Cherrie, Scugog Is. attended our worship service. All enjoyed the rest of the Sab- bath with the daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hodgins and two children. Mrs. Rose Somerville has re- turned from a few days with her neice and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. L. Collins and son in Raglan. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hgayn enjoyed a portion of their holi- day with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Webb and other Prince Albert News relatives at Haliburton. Mrs. Pearl Ecclestone of Tor- onto spent a few days with her cousins, Mrs. E. McKerihan and Mrs. E. Stanton. Mrs. Murdock, Oshawa was a week-end visitor with her relatives, Mr. and Mrs. James Doupe. Mrs. B. Snelgrove and Jean motored to Sarnia visiting their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Snelgrove. Mr. and Mrs. L. Beacock and Bryan were Sunday dinner guests with Miss O. Beacock and Mrs. Tarves, Oshawa. Mr. Robt. Snelgrove in com- pany with other fellow class- mates enjoyed a vacation in Sudbury and Pawa district. Mr. and Mrs. R. Butson par- took of a motor trip in the area of Port Colborne. Guide News The following Port [Perry Guides have enjoyed camping this summer--Barbara Webster and Pat. Healey spent two weeks at Camp Adelaide, Hali- burton, Central Area adventure camp; Dianne Hall attended Conestoga Area Adventure camp, north of Goderich; Cath- erine Nelson at Girl Scout Ca- dette Camp, Astabula, Ohio, On August 22nd, 36 Port Perry and Scugog Guides with their leaders will take a bus to Camp Adelaide, Haliburton, to spend 10 days. We in Central Area feel very fortunate in having such a lovely camp available to us. Also on the week-end of the: 380th, 18 Brownies and their leaders will spend the week-end in the lodge on this same camp site in Hali- burton. SCUGOG One Sunday in July Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Collins had the pleasure of gathering their whole family together for the first time in 10 years. The oc- casion was a family picnic held in the township park of Cart- wright. The grandchildren helped bring the assembled number up to 59. !Congratula- tions to tihs family that hon- ours its parents thus. Mr. and Mrs. David Moore have had an interesting summer thus far because of many vi- sits from former friends and relatives, Mrs. Moore's niece, Evelyn King and her friend from Islington spent last week at the Moore home. [Previously another niece, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoglund and 38 children from Toronto 'had visited the Moore's. On Aug. 22, four of the Is- land girls are going to "Guide" NEWS Camp. So it is hoped the base- ball games will be over by then. There are 5 final games to be played with the Scugog Ram- ettes still holding a place for the finals. Come on girls we are all pulling for you. On Sunday Mrs. Reta Rod- man visited at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Carl Graham. Two weeks ago Mrs. Earl Reader and Bill motored to Miami, Florida with Connie & Cliff Charlton.
