Second game of the series will be played in Oshawa this Sat- urday afternoon, at North Osh- awa Park, at 2.30 o'clock. Williams, pitching for Port Perry, chalked up 15 strikeouts as he limited the North Oshawa boys to six hits. Back-to-back hits by O'Connell and Hopkins produced North Oshawa's first run in the sixth inning to tie the count at 1-1, Port Perry had scored their lone run in the fourth when Evans opened with a hit and Jeffrey brought him home, with two hits off Bind, the North Oshawa pitcher. The youngsters battled into the "overtime" with the score still deadlocked at 1-1. A walk to Salmers, followed by a couple of passed balls and a sacrifice, scored Oshawa's sec- ond run in the top of the 8th. Port Perry came back to win Obituary- MRS. MARY N. ROBERTSON Mary Naomi Robertson, an ardent worker in the Ladies' Aid of St. John Presbyterian Church in Port Perry, died Sun- day. She was in her 83rd year. Born April 15, 1882, in Cart- wright Township, the former Mary Naomi Coates was the daughter of the late James and Charlotte Coates. She married Sinclair A. Robertson in Cart- wright Township in 1904. The family farmed at Shirley until 1932 when they moved to Port Perry. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the Shirley Women's Institute. She is survived by her hus- band, two sons, Roy, at Shirley and Grant, of Peterborough, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body was resting at the McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry. The funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 2 p.m, and was conducted by Rev. H. M. Buntain of St. John's Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemete,ry Prince Albert. IN AND OUT OF TOWN Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marvel, Harrisburg, Penna., spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Gor- don Reesor. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray spent a few days with her mother and father, Rev. and Mrs. Rice, also visiting at the Rice home is Mrs. Frank Gray. South Shields, England. An error was made in a news item in last issue of the Star about Mrs. Violet Skerratt win- nig prizes in the Homecraft Show at the C.N.E. Instead of six prizes, Mrs. Skerratt won no less than eight and in addition to these, she also won four honourable men- tion ribbons. Mrs. Skerratt was the second highest lady prize winner ot the show. the game, after one out, in their half of the inning, with Wil- liams, Evans and Cochrane all hitting safely, for the neces- sary two runs.
