Business matters were cleared away, after - which a lovely lunch was provided by group in charge. Last Sunday the Sunday School swung into full schedule in the form of Rally Service. Those present were privileged to hear Mrs. A. Rice who re- lated a most enlightening mes- sage. twas | Last week our midst seemed | to be a bee hive of social acti- vities, First event took place Tuesday evening when nearly twenty relatives arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martyn to help convey greet- ings upon the occasion of their | twenty-fifth wedding anniver- sary for Sept. 9. The unexpect- ed guests provided a bouffant supper for all. During the eat- ing hour a friend, Mrs. Pearl Croxall of Uxbridge composed and read a suitable address to the honoured couple who also were the recipients of a lovely chime clock. Earl and Jean in turn expressed sincere thanks. A dainty decorated wedding cake helped to top the menu. Relatives who enjoyed the even- ing were from Seagrave, Oak- wood, Port Perry and our vill- age, Friday evening close neigh- bours arranged a surprise party for Earl and Jean Martyn for the purpose of celebrating their anniversary in a neighborly fa- shion. Midnight brought about the ap- pearance of liberal and delici- ous party food which all agreed the evening added up to--well --"A good time was had by all".
