Two of the elders, Mr. F. Vickery and Mr. G. Hunter welcomed the visitors, also from neighbour- ing areas into the sanctuary enhanced with floral setting, marking the special 98th anniv- ersary service. The speaker, our comparat- ively *new minister, Mr. Alec A. Rice extended a warm wel- come to everyone. | The choir was outstanding. It was a pleasure to welcome the guest, Mrs. Lorraine Mor- rison, a popular radio artist who rendered two delightful numbers. Mr. Rice at this time deliv- ered a worthwhile sermon, 'Our Father's Church and Ours'. Mrs. B. Snelgrove, organist, accompanied all musical num- bers and appreciates the out- | side voices who assisted in the! services. choir. Offering gathered by Denny Martyn and Donald Bea- cock. At 7:00 p.m. the Order of Service blended into somewhat of a friendly get-to-gether. The congregation joined in a rousing half-hour of singing old familiar hymns. The choir again rendered their lovely an- them. preciated when Mr. B. Snel- grove played a violin selection. Mr. Robert Heayn contributed a vocal solo, accompanied by Mrs. Snelgrove at the organ and Mrs. Hunter at the piano. An interesting discussion per- iod took place when some val- uable history pertaining to our church was voiced by several folk. {who After repeating the iction a liberal lunch was then served in the .basement. Miss Nola Hunter and friend, Mr. Karl Kyrytow, of Toronto were week-end guests with Mr. and Mrs. L. Hunter. Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Hunter and baby son, of Bonneyville, Alberta, are home for a week or two. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Jackson of Brooklin with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wilson and sons.
