Mrs, Lorne Thompson, Mrs. Harold Kyte and Mrs. Harold McLaughlin sang the lovely trio, "Green Pastures". Rev. P. Romeril gave the prayer and introduced the guest speaker, Miss Hyacinth Boothe, a Meth- odist Deaconess in Jamaica, who gave a very fine address on "The Works of Women of the Church". Msds. Ross. Duff, Bruce Mountyjoy, P. Romeril, and Glenn Larmer were ushers for the service. In St. John's Church, Canon Ashmore continued on with a series of sermons on Prayer. The Town and Country Club met Wednesday evening in the C.E. Centre. Rev and Mrs. P. Romeril, Mr, and Mrs. Ivan Thompson, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm were in charge. Evening began with Recreation in the form of a "Naming Cel- ebraties" contest. The minutes were read and a letter of thanks from Miss Doreen Van Camp for money sent her to A committee was appointed to see about a new Communion Table for the Church. All listened to a record. by Gertrude Dehanna telling her life story of how she overcame being - ari alcoholic and became a christian. Rev. P. Romeril gave the Worship. Lunch of sandwiches and coffee was enjoyed. On Friday evening a large number of friends of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vanderhuel (Anne Gibson) gathered in the Rec. Centre to honour them follow- ing their recent marriage. 'Mr. Lawrence Malcolm was genial M.C. for the evening's pro- gramme. Miss Nancy Dorrell played a piano solo, "The Best Gail and Bonnie Malcolm, accomp- anied by their mother, Mrs. L. Malcolm on the piano, sang "Waiting for the Sunrise" and "All by Yourself in the Moon- light". David Wotten accomp- anying himself on the guitar, sang "Send me the Pillow that you Dream On" and "Singing Waterffalls". Mrs. W. Archer read two articles, "Wrinkles" and "Reducing". Carol Werry played "The Teddy Bears Pic- nic". Mrs. Gerald Kelly gave two humorous readings, "I Love You" and "Advice". While Mrs. Dave Wilson played "The Wed- ding March" the happy couple were invited to decorated seats on the platform. The M.C. ex- pressed congraulations and good wishes of their friends and presented the gifts which consisted of a coffee table, two step tables, two lamps, and several miscellaneous gifts. Both Anne and Peter expressed their appreciation. ine AL SERRA 2 - A bountiful lunch was served after which dancing to music provided by Burnham's Orches- tra from Scugog was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Mal- colm of Toronto spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Mer- rill VanCamp and family. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Taylor and girls attended the 40th Wedding Anniversary of Mrs. Taylor's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Noble, Uxbridge on Fri- day evening, and on Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Taylor attended the Urbanski- Tuck wedding in Uxbridge. Mrs. E.
