LOOK TO IMPERIAL for the best Fred, as he was so well known to everyone, had been a resident of our community for the last twenty years, and was a very highly respected citizen. Al- ways a perfect gentleman, in the fullest sense of the word, with other people foremost in his thoughts, at all times. He missed by all who knew him. Born in Churchill, Ont., the son of Mr. ana Mrs. Stephen Grose, he moved to Toronto in 1914, where he joined the Tor- onto Police Force, and rose to the rank of Sergt. After serv- ing on the force for thirty yrs., with distinction he retired and moved to Seagrave, in 1944. In 1925 he married Ethel Frise, eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Frise, who survives 'him. He also leaves to mourn his passing, one brother William of Hamilton, three sisters: Maude, Mrs. Fred Morris of Churchill, Ida, Mrs. Jack Morris of Tor- onto and Mina, Mrs. Stanley Copeland, also of Toronto. Fred was a member of the Toronto Police 'Assoc., and a member of Ulster Lodge 537, AF. & AM. Funeral Serices were held in 'the Chapel of McDermott & Panabaker, in Port Perry, on Saturday, Sept. 12th. Rev. Eustace MeNeil conducted the in the family plot at Prince Albert Cemetery. The profusion of flowers payed tribute to the passing of one who was held in great esteem, and who will be great- ly missed in the community. Rev. McNeil used the follow- ing poem: Sunset and evening star, And one dear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea, But such a tide as moving i seems -a-sleep, Too full for sound and foam When that which drew from out the boundless deep Turns again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark. For, tho' from out our bourne of time and place The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar.
