This was a nice afternoon. The Club ex- tended an invitation to the Senior Citizens of Whitby. They came in a chartered bus. Members and our visiting friends totalling 93 enjoyed a happy get together. Business was short, with our president, Mrs. Chapman in the chair. A highlight was the presentation of a gift to Mrs. J. Robertson, the retiring President, who act- ed so well for two years (first President of the Club). Mrs. Chapman spoke of Mrs. Robert- son's untiring efforts in organ- izing Senior Citizens of Port Perry, starting out with 11 peo- ple attending, which has now grown to 100 members. Our past President replied in her usual pleasant manner, thank- ing everyone who had co-oper- ated with her to make this Club what it is today (What a bene- fit these Clubs are to our Senior Citizens). Mrs. Gould of Whitby spoke on behalf of the Senior Citizens, introducing lots of humour. We all enjoyed a delightful program, much thanks is due to Mrs. O. Stone who planned this nice enter- tainment. Rousing sing song (Mrs. T. Redman at the piano), in the absence of our pianist Mrs. Tremeer, who is in hospi- tal. Two recitations were given by Mrs. I. R. Bently which were greatly enjoyed, also humorous recitations by Mrs. L. Duff and Mrs. E. Webster, creating lots of laughs, Mrs. Bell of Whitby (once a resident here) favoured us with good music on the piano accor- dian, also we enjoyed a sing song accompanied.by Mrs. Bell. Progressive euchre was en- joyed for awhile, winners were: Ladies--Mrs. L. Wilson, Mrs. J. Robertson, Mrs. Sills and Mrs. E. Allen. Gent's prizes went to Mr, A. Prentice, Mr. O. Stone,, Mr. Eyre. Tasty lunch was served. All went home af- ter this very happy get to- gether. Then a few more re- marks from Mr. Gould of Whit- by. Our next meeting Wednesday 2 p.m,, Nov. 18th.
