Report Increase In Net Earnings Oshawa Wholesale Limited reports a 81.5 per cent increase in net earnings and a 19.85 per cent sales increase for the 40- weeks ended Oct. 31. Net earnings were $1,073,898 Mr. and Mrs. Ken Rodd of compared with $816,674 in the share earnings on 1,157,796 shares were 92.75 cents compar- ed with 70.93 cents on 1,151,396 shares last year, an increase of 80.76 per cent. These figures reflect the two for one stock split of last June. Sales for the 40-week period were $79,895,365, compared with $66,628,479 in 1963. Aec- cording to Ray D. Wolfe, Pre- sident, these figures do not in- clude sales of the eight Bas- sins Food Markets which the company acquired Nov. 9. In a letter to shareholders, Mr. Wolfe announced that Osh- awa"s subsidiary, Ontario Pro- duce Co. Ltd. has ecquired a 25,000 - square-foot vegetable packing plant in the Holland Marsh at Bradford, Ont. and will package a full line of fresh vegetables for IGA and Food City Stores as well as for Ont- ario Produce customers in Can- ada, the United States and a- broad. Oshawa is IGA supplier in central Ontario. The move will ensure con- tinuity of supply and quality control of Holland Marsh vege- tables, he said.
