PNR ERIE EIN STAN Yd SENIOR CITIZENS CLUB Over 40 members met at the Hall November 18th at 2 p.m. Meeting opened with Mrs. Chapman, president in the chair. Lord's prayer was said in unison. Citizen's prayer & O Canada was sung. Business was discussed. Suffle board has been painted on the floor for those who enjoy the game. Running water has been in- stalled which saves a lot of work carrying water. It has been a lot of work for the mem- bers decorating and etc. but is well worth it. Cards and Bingo was enjoyed and tasty lunch served by group in charge. We were pleased to welcome forty friends from Uxbridge on Thursday evening, November 19th. It was a stormy night but it didn't prevent a good crowd of members and friends to enjoy this evening. Gerald and Bill showed some lovely pictures of Florida and Mrs. Stone was responsible for the following numbers. Mrs. E, Webster favoured us with one of her humorous recitations; Mrs. H, Phillips delighted the audience with her rendition of two popular songs. "In the Gloaming" and "Garden of To- morrow", which she sang very sweetly, Community singing was enjoyed also, with Ethel Redman as pianist for program. A delicious lunch was served by group in charge. Rev. Wright of Uxbridge thanked everyone on behalf of Uxbridge friends, also Miss D, St. John expressed her appreciation, both felt it was well worthwhile to come and enjoy the program. Twenty tables were set up, nice lunch served and good prizes for lucky winners, Prizes went as fol- lows: Ladies High, Mrs. Wal- key, score 20; Second (Mrs, A. (Consolation Mr. Stump, score 43. * ok * Pictures were shown at our Club last week, Of Florida and its beauty so elegant and neat; Our Uxbridge friends were with us too, There were forty from there (We would say quite a few) We all of us enjoyed Bill and Gerald's Show, Just really keeps us on our toes, We sang those old songs, and made the Hall ring, We folks haven't forgotten the way to sing, We really love to gather, its good for us all, As we assemble and meet in the Citizen's Hall, We are grateful for this place where we meet, As we say thanks to the Council for this retreat, Its really something to be all together In fine or even very stormy weather, Manchester 'News Mr. and Mrs, Hilton Turner of Brandon, Man., are visiting Holtby relatives in this area. Mr. Turner visited Scugog Head School and Prospect School where his mother, the former Miss Tilly Holtby taught many years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Petrozzi of Port Perry were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Mulholland on Sunday, Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Meek (nee Carol Midgley) on the birth of a little daughter on Sunday, Nov. 22nd at Uxbridge Cottage Hos- pital.
