The Annual Christmas Mus- ical was held in Burn's Church on Sunday evening, Déc. 13th. at 8 o'clock. Diane Fisher led in a sing song of several Christmas Car- ols. The Scripture lesson was read' by Diane Parrott and Jas. Daw led in prayer. The Anderson Street High School Choir of Whitby, under the direction of Mr. Keith Nor- ton sang "The Lord's Prayer", and "O, Holy Night". Mr. D. T. Sivage of Oshawa was the guest speaker and delivered a most inspiring message to the Young People. Roy Gaudaur and David Bradley sang a duet. The service was brought to a close with Judy Batten and Mary Heron singing 'Turn Your Eyes to Jesus', and prayer by Rev. H. Buntain. . Mrs. Douglas Ashton was hostess for the Christmas me- eting of the Ladies Bible Slass on Wednesday evening, Dec. 9th: at 8:15 o'clock with an at- tendance of thirty-three. The meeting opened with the singing of "O Little Town of Bethlehem". The Scripture les- and prayer by Mrs. William Gardner. The president, Mrs. Ashton chose for her medit- ation, "The Manger--The Shep- herd and Christ". The topic taken by Mrs. Ed. Heron spoke on "Christmas in the Home". Mr. Arthur Richardson was elected to the School Board of Whitby Township at the election held on Saturday, Dec. 12th. \ Mr. and Mrs. F. Gostick and Miss Edith Gostick, of Green River were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. 'W. Hopkins. Mrs. M. Sparks spent the week-end with Dr. and Mrs. James Langstaff, at Richmond Hill. At the Election on Saturday at Ashburn, Mrs. James Sandi- son was D.R.O. and Miss Vera Leach was Poll Clerk. The vote for Reeve was 61 for Heber Down and 51 for John Dryden.
