He was in his 51st year. Burial was on Monday, Jan. 11, 1965. Service at the Mc Dermott-Panabaker Chapel con- ducted by Rev. Alec G. Rice of Pont Perry United Church. In- terment was in Prince Albert. Born in Colborne, Mr. Cal- bery was the son 'of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Calbery of Col- borne. Mr. Calbery married the former Bertha Yarrow and had lived in Port Perry since 1941, He had been employed at General Motors in Oshawa for more than 20 years. Surviving besides his wife and parents are two sons, Har- old and Elmer of Port Perry, and three daughters: Mrs. F. Roman (Jean) of Nova Scotia, Joan of Peterborough and Ada of Toronto. Also surviving are a brother, Harold, and five sisters: Mrs. C. Denny (Emma), Mrs. H. Warner (Ruth), Mrs. F. Martin (Lillian) all of Colborne; Mrs. M. Bassant (Grace) of Port Perry and Mrs. P. Saunders (Mabel) of Houlton, Maine. MRS. MARTHA COUCH A lifelong resident of the Seagrave area, Mrs. Martha Couch passed away 'at the Strachhaven Nursing Home in Bowmanville, on Wedneulay, January 6th. Mrs. Couch was Martha Moon and was born on Sept. 15, 1868, on the farm where Mr. Mansell Sleep and his mother now live: She was much respected and loved by friends and neighbours alike, of a quiet and retiring nature. She was always ready to do her part in church and Comtfiunity. She had been a ARIES --- patient in the nursing home for five years, and was a model one. She was twice married, first to Oliver Sleep, six children were born of this marriage: Mrs. Tunnicliffe (Florence) Mrs. Jas. Reynolds (Viona) both of Moose Jaw, Sask., (Mrs. 0. J. Boe (Reta), Mr. Melville Sleep, Bowmanville; Cecil V. and Alma both predeceased. Later she married Thomas Couch, and had one son Mr. Wilbert Couch. The funeral took place at McDermott-Panabaker Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, Rev. E. 'McNeil cond g the service. Interment fook place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. The pallbearers were Grand- sons, Mr. Milford Sleep, Mr. Carl Boe, Mr. Arnold Sleep, Mr. Percy Reynolds, Mr. James Couch and Mr. Ted Suddard. After the funeral the friends gathered at the home of Mr. & Mrs. O. J. where the ladies of the North Group of the U.C.W. served refreshments, Senior Citizens One of the happiest parties was held at Senior Citizens Hall to bring in the New Year. Over fifty members and friends met. After games and cards a de- lightful lunch was served: At midnight everyone drank a toast for 1966. Mr. Roy 8t. John was toast master, then all joined hands to form circle and sang Auld Lang Syne.
