LIKE THE STURDY OAK Our friendship, , like the sturdy oak, ©' Has grown throughout the years. The sunshine has been the happy hours, The rain has been our tears. Like the oak, we sent out branches All along life's way, Our friendship grew and blossomed With each shining day. The old oak tree's leaves are many Like the hours we have shared. The memories we have gathered For stormy days or fair. Our roots are deep and lasting The kind that have no end, For they grow in friendship's garden We've shared with you, our friends.
