Cawker, Mon, Feb. 8th, for the purpose of organizing a Handicraft Guild. At an earlier meeting held in January, at the home of Mrs. L. Patterson, two representa- tives from the Community Pro- grammes Branch, Dept. of Edu- cation, Toronto, paid an advis- ory visit and explained the "Aims" of a Guild, structure, Officers, meeting procedures, ete. Mrs. Roy Cornish organized the Handicraft Guild and the following Officers were elected: Chairman--Mrs. L. Patterson Vice Chairman--Mrs. S. Naples Secretary--Mrs, A. Martyn | Treasurer--Miss-A. Kent _. After some 'discussion the following items of business were decided upon: -- I. The Guild will be known as "The Louise Patterson Han- dicraft Guild". II. Meetings will be held once a month. Hockey N News Port Key Novice All Stars are undefeated in league play. Last week they had two very close games ending up with ties in Uxbridge and Canning- ton. . Last Fri. night in Uxbridge Port Perry's only goal was scored by Campbell in the 1st period ending sin a 1 - 1 tie. On Saturday they travelled to Cannington to play Canning- ton who are also undefeated. The game was close and very, exciting all- the way. Port Perry took the lead twice and with Port Perry leading 7-6 and with 30 seconds to go Can- nington pulled their goalie giv- ing them six attackers, scored giving them a tie 7-7. Scoring for Port Perry was Heard -- 8, Nightingale -- 2, Campbell--1, Cochrane--1, with the whole team playing a sound game. HOUSE LEAGUE February 10th-- Hurst 1 Jackson 1 This was a very close, clean game with one penalty to each team, The first period there was no scoring. Second period saw Hurst take the lead only to have Jackson tie it up with 3 minutes left in the game. Hall 1 Hurst 4 Hurst came up with a good checking game, the best of tha year. Jeffrey played well scor- ing three points, while McGill played a god game on defence. for Hurst. Hall's best. BANTAM-- Jeffrey vs. Luke The first game of the morn- ing saw Luke's and Jeffrey's team fight to a 8-3 tie. Both teams played good hockey. The play switched from one end to the other as both teams had plenty of scoring chances. Stars of the game were Jeffrey for Jeffrey's team and McNab and MacMaster for Luke's. Heard vs. Gunter Heard's team in a real close game defeated Gunter's team 3- 2. Gunter's team playing im- proved hockey were almost a match for the Heard team.
