Cty. A farm accident survey will be conducted in Ontario County during the period April 1st, 1965, to March 31st, 1966. Every day somewhere in the Province of Ontario a member of some farm family suffers death, injury or financial loss from accidents, One member of every fourth farm family will be an accident victim this year, if accidents on the farm and in the farm home continue at their present rate. There are many causes of farm accidents; improper use of farm machinery, working when hampered by fatigue, trying to speed up the working program beyond a sensible rate, ignor- ing manufacturer's directions, lack of respect for. high speed machinery and many others. Just as improved farming practices are the result of scientific research applied on actual farming 'conditions so car. a sound farm safety pro- gramme result only from re- search on actual farm accidents.
