PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, July 8th, 1965 -- 5 Income Tax Cut Boosts Payrolls Salary and wage earners this weekend will realize the first effects of the Government's April 27th budget, in which a 10% personal income tax reduc' tion was announced. Pay cheques for pay periods on and after July 1st will have less deducted from them. Those who receive pay cheques half- monthly will notice the tax cut about July 15th, while monthly paid workers will have to wait until the end of the four week period. This tax cut means a flow of about $56 million a week into the public's spending power. However, it should be remem- bered that starting January 1, 1966, pay envelopes of all em- ployees will be deducted the appropriate amounts for the Canada 'Pension Plan. : Booklets explaining the Canada Pension Plan contributary earn- ings are to be issued in Sept- ember.
