Her parents at- tended the closing exercises on Friday evening. Church service was in charge of Rev. Cooper this week but Rev. D. Harris will be back in the pulpit next Sunday. The annual Sunday School picnic will be held next Satur- day afternoon (July 24th) at Geneva Park. Anyone needing transportation should contact one of the Superintendents. 68 persons at Sunday School saw birthday money deposited by little Colleen Watts, aged 3, | and Mr. Lawrence Nicholls, somewhat older. Mr. Ken Stur- man was in charge and Mr. Doug McMillan read the lesson. Sunday School will be with- drawn during the month of August to give the teachers a well-earned rest. Noted Author At Upper Canada Academy Blanche Jefferson PhD.., from the University of Pittsburgh, will speak on "Teaching Art to Children" at Upper Canada Academy on Friday evening, July 23rd, at 8.30 p.m. Dr. Jefferson, author of the series of books, "My World of 'Art", has come to Canada es- pecially for her talk at Upper Canada Academy and will be entertained at lunch on Friday by Macmillans of Canada, her publishers in this country. After lunch she will visit with Betty | Kennedy on CFRB radio and then travel to the Academy with the Director, John Rich- mond. Parents and teachers are cor- dially invited to attend the dis- cussion for which there will be a charge of $1.50 per person. Refreshments will be served after the talk and guests will be invited to inspect the lodge. The buildings at Upper Can- ada Academy are all recon- structed early pioneer shelters, the lodge was a barn brought from Scarborough, and three log cabins from as early as 1830 | are being rebuilt on the pro-| perty.
