Mr. & Mrs. David Swain and Brent of London spent Monday- Thursday with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Swain. Miss Judy Cochrane returned home Friday from two weeks at Athletes Camp at Longford Mills. Ian Ferguson, Toronto spent last week with the Lloyd Wrights. Don Wright is spend- ing this week with the Grant Fergusons at their cottage by Lake Chandos. Mr. Ivan Cochrane horse "Lightening Dares" made a good start for the season -- by coming in first in the race at Greenwood, Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bruce, Acton were Monday and Tues- day guests and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Bruce and Marjorie Sea- grave were Tuesday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mar- wood McKee. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kewin, Beaconsfield, Quebec are holi- daying with Mr. Ev. Trewin. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Lucas, Toronto were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Orr Venning. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Dunsmoor, Beth and Bryan attended the Vessie Family gathering at Durham, during the week-end. Miss Beth Dunsmoor is spending this week with her sister in Toronto, Bruton Family Holds Picnic At Port Perry The Bruton IFamily held their annual picnic at Poplar Park in Port Perry on Sunday, July 11, 1965. Several of the family ar- rived early in the day to enjoy lunch together. During the afternoon a ball game was enjoyed by the old as well as the young men. Follow- ing a delicious supper Rev. Gor- don Bruton took charge of the games and races in which young and old participated. ck News Mr. and Mrs. Norman Vessie, Owen Sound visited Mrs. Jean McKechnie Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Archer, Bowmanville were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Archer. Prospect News Our S. S. picnic held at the popular Taylor's Park, was en- joyed by all who attended. The dinner was at noon. The sports committee--Cathy Vernon, Mary Lynn Holth#, David Webster and Aldon Smith, had arranged a varied programme with prizes, to include everyone. Beverley Vernon guessed the exact num- ber of jelly beans in a glass container. The champion runner was our pastor, Rev. Teskey, who is a good sportsman. The swimming pool was well pat- ronized in spite of a light shower of rain, at the last per- iod- Among our guests were Mrs. George Smith of Whitby and Mr. Naylor of Oshawa, a R.O.P. inspector. Glen Holtby, Pat and Denise Diamond enjoyed a week at Omemee Bible School: The Smith families have en- joyed holidays at cottages on Scugog Island. Mr. Murrqy Holtby, Laural and Mary ynn spent a few days at Bonnie "View Inn, near Haliburton, visiting Miss Bar- bara Holtby, who is employed there. Several ladies attended Mrs. Grant Hunter's Trousseau Tea in honour of her daughter Beth on July 24th. Again, the Martyn family is saddened by the loss of a loved ode, by accidental death- On Thursday evening, July 29th, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martyn of Prince Albert were returning from a day's trip to Midland. At Elmvale (Mrs. W. E)) Jean Martyn was instantly Killed in a head-on collision with a gravel truck. Earl is suffering pain- ful injuries in Barrie Hospital. Our deepest sympathy is ex- tended to Earl, and his family, Marion (Mrs. John Lake of Oakwood) and Bruce at home, and relatives in this sad ber- eavement. We remember also, Mr. and Mrs. Mosienko and family, in the recent death of her father, the late Mr. John Apostle: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holtby,| Brian and Donald have just re- turned from three - week's motor trip trans-Canada to Van- couver, returning via U.S.A.
