- SEAGRAVE NEWS On Thursday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. McNeil had the plea- sure of welcoming home Flight- sergeant Ken Lutteral, R.C.A.F. his wife (Dorothy McNeil) and children Gail, Bonnie and Ken~ ny. The Lutteral family have been stationed in Germany 314% yrs. After a short leave they will report to camp at Gage- town, N.B. The annual re-union picnic of the Seagrave "Beaus and Bells" of the 1940's took place on Sun- day at Fish Point, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Short. This group includes representatives of the A. Short and W. Short families, the McCoys, Hardings, Scotts and Bruces. In spite of unfavourable weather there was an attendance of more than 50. Some of the families could not be there. Another re-union, the 5th an-| nual Wray family picnic took! place at Poplar Park, Pt. Petry | recently with 64 members at-| tending. All had an enjoyable | time and plans were made for another gathering next year. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wealy and family of Toronto, who have been spending the summer down on the farm will be returning home shortly to prepare for | school opening, Word was received of the death on Friday of Mr. Percy Gillard, brother-in-law of the Tait family. On Saturday ev- ening Mr. and Mrs. N. McMillan and 'Marilyn, Mrs. G. Fishley and Mr. Cecil Fishley went to Toronto to visit their bereaved friends. Mrs. V. Tait had al- ready gone on Friday and is staying for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bruce and family spent Thursday at the summer home of Mr. & Mrs. John Roulston near Graven- hurst. This was a birthday celebration for Lloyd Bruce. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Mitchell, Galt, who have been on a trip to Ottawa and points east, stopped off for a few days visit with Mr. and Mrs. G. Wangs maker and daughters. The {tvo families spent Sunday in Guelph with friends. Mrs. Walter King entertained her sister Mrs. W. Burke of Scarborough last week. Burke was accompanied by Her grandchildren Bonnie and Bren da Ellis, | Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Sellery of Clarkson were dinner guests of Mrs. Nodwell and Elizabeth on Tuesday. The Nodwell reported to be having a wonder- ful visit. Rosemary has been a contestant at some Highland Games and has won several prizes to date. Det. Tobin and his wife Shir- ley, Oshawa spent the week-end with the Tobin and Cookson fa- milies. The latest of our friends to ! be bitten by the "go-West" bug are Mr. and Mrs. Earle Bryant who left for the eoast on Satur- | day. Sunday's game was cancelled on account of what they thought the weather would be. P.S.--We are still having re- ligious holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ward, Whit- by were recent guests of her brother, Mr. Lorne Thompson and Mrs. Thompson. Mrs. Jewell, Uxbridge, was the guest of her sister-in-law Mrs. A. Fielding last week. Mr. and Mrs. Everitt Doupe and Robert with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Doupe and daughter are holidaying in the Maritimes. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mec- Master, Bonnie and Cathy of Amherstburg visited Mr. and Mrs. Josh Dobson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Steer, John and Margaret for a few days. Mrs. Crosier was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. Me- Lean and Miss Dorothy McLean, Port Perry, on Sunday. The U.C.W. met last Thurs- day afternoon at Mrs. A. Field- ing's. The meeting opened with hymn and prayer. The Manchester News | scripture lesson*®* was read by Mrs. Roy Dobsen and Mrs. Al- lan Jackson read the meditation and prayer, Pres. Mrs. Croxall chaired the business session, welcoming 13 [ members and 1 visitor. The roll was answered with number of visits and donations for the ba zaar. A lovely white bible was purchased by Mrs. Aletha Holt- by, a gift from the Association to the bride of the week, the former Miss Muriel Lamb. The proceeds from bake sale and donations, $44.15; a thank you note was read from Mrs. Mina Steer for a donation of $15.00 to help defray expenses of S. S. pieniec. A motion was passed that our allocation of $62.50 be paid to the Central Church fund. The meeting clog ed with prayer. Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Dobson assisted tha hostess in serving a delicious lunch and all enjoyed a social half hour.
