UTICA W.A. The United Church Womens Auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. Herman Walker in Brook- lin on Thursday, August 12th. Eight members and one visitor were present. Mrs. Handel opened the meeting with call to worship followed by Hymn 368, "Jesus calls us o'er the tumult". Followed by Lord's Prayer. Scripture reading by Mrs. William Brown, Phillipp- ians, chapter 2, verses 1 to 18. Mrs. Jack Crosier gave a read- ing, "Form of a Servant." Prayer was followed by theme song and reading of creed card in unison. Hymn 148, "Breathe on me breath of God" was sung. Devotion closed with Benedict- ion. The president, Mrs. Handell, presided for the business port- ion of the meeting. Secretary read the minutes and gave a summary of treasurer's report. Business dealt with and tabled. Lunch was served and the pres- ident thanked Mrs. Walker for inviting us to her home. UTICA UCW The monthly meeting of the Utica U.C.W. was held at the home of Mrs. Bruce Miller on Wednesday evening, August 11] at 8.30 p.m. There were eight members and one guest pres- ent. ' The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Thorndyke. Mrs. William Goslin and Miss Gloria Goslin were in charge of the devotional. Mrs. Goslin led the group in prayer follow- ed by the reading in unison of Psalm 118 and Hymn No. 399, "Faith of our Fathers" was sung. Mrs. Goslin read the scripture for the evening as found in the book of Romans, chapter 12, verses 11 to 29 and Mark chapter 2, verses 14 to 20. Gloria Goslin gave a very enlightening talk, entitled, "Agents of Hope". Mrs. Goslin closed the devotional with a prayer. . Mrs. Thorndyke chaired. the business meeting. All reports were read and approved. Plans were made for the coming bake sale.
