LIE oF al Srl Greenbank News ~ That summer vacation which looked so long at the end of June and now seems so short has come to an end and this morning sees the beginning of the back-to-school movement. There is much activity among the youngsters as they scuttle off to the seat of learning be- low the hill, some on foot, some on bikes and others by bus. There will be new teachers, new scholars and also a new class- room to take care of the over- flow attendance. May this year be a happy and successful one for all concerned. Our minister's vacation is also over and he was back in the pulpit last Sunday. Mrs. Harris had charge of the ser- vice at Pinedale. A large number from here attended Port Perry Fair on Labour Day and report a large crowd and a very fine exhibit. The local W.I. was successful in winning a number of prizes. Mr, and Mrs. Danny Reesor, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Dobson and Mr. Bert Finney of Brampton were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Art Couves and Miss Ruth. The Ont. Co. Federation of Agriculture will hold their an- nual church service at the Old Stone Church, Beaverton, on Sunday, Sept. 12th at 2.30 p.m. Rev. Philip Romeril of Black- stock will be the speaker and Miss Maggie Blair's birthday. Sorry to report that Mr. Chas. Lunney of Saintfield suf- fered a stroke recently and is a patient in Port Perry Hos- pital. Mr. and Mrs. H, Duffus and family have moved to their new home next door to Mr. George Stone. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beare at- tended a wedding at Fort Erie last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Don Ferguson attended the wedding of Mrs. Ferguson's brother, Mr. Nor- man Lipsett to Miss Mary Courtney of Schomberg last Saturday, ' Sorry to report that Mrs. Pearl Phoenix is still very ill in Uxbridge Cottage Hospital.
