Mr. Harvey Graham acted as M.C. for the following pro- gramme:-- A reading by Mrs. Wilbert Archer. An account of a wedding by columnist Maggie Grant of the Globe and Mail. Judy Mountjoy played a piano solo, "Three O'clock in the Morning". Bonnie Gail and Bonnie Malcolm--accompanied by their mother Mrs. Lawrence 'Malcolm on the piano sang two duets, "My Hero" and "I'll see you again", Leanne Dorrell read "A Perfect Husband". Cheryl Metcalf rendered a med- ley of selections from the musi- cals Kismet and My#¥air Lady. The M.C. who had told a comical story between each number ,now invited the Bride and Groom to the stage and presented them with a swivel rocker, coffee table, pole lamp, mirror and several miscellane- ous gifts. Both David and Bon- nie made fitting responses. Lunch was served and the rest of the evening spent in dancing to music provided by an or- chestra from Millbrook. She also reminded the members that it was nearly time to send the fall bale. Mrs. J. Scott brought 8 lovely layettes in. The church calendars are on hand and Mrs. J. McArthur will look after the sale of these. Tickets are on hand for the Spode which prom- ises tobe an interesting offer. The Pres. closed the meeting with prayer. On their 85th wedding anni- versary Saturday, Sept. 18th Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lawrence were invited to the home of her sister Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Black, Lotus, for the afternoon and supper. Upon arriving home about 8.30 p.m. . They found about 60 friends and relatives gathered at their house. A wonderful turkey dinner was ready to be partaken of. Their family, daughter Sylvia and friend Jim Cookson, sons Robert and wife Jane and John and wife Teresa had been very busy while they were away. A very happy evening was spent. The surprised couple were the recipients of many lovely gifts. Friends were present from Oshawa, Toronto, Weston, Scar- boro, Willowdale,, Seagrave, Port Perry, Nestleton Caesarea, Blackstock Locust Hill, Curtis Point, Roseneath, Lotus. Mr, and Mrs. Merrill Van Camp returned home Saturday evening from spending a week at Fort William attending a Convention regarding Homes for the Aged. . Mr, and Mrs. Jim Marlow were hosts for a family dinner party Friday evening in hon- our of Mr. and Mrs, Carl Wright's 46th wedding anniver- sary, The honoured couple were presented with a card table and chairs. Mrs. David Hill spent last week-end in Richmond Hill. Saturday evening she attended Dr. C. E. Hill's birthday party at the Cricket Club, Toronto and afterwards was entertained at his residence in Willowdale. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dobbin and David, Peterboro, visited Canon and Mrs. Ashmore on Saturday. Mr. Wayne McShane, King- ston and Miss Elaine Mountjoy, Peterboro were week-end guests of the Bruce Mountjoys. Mrs. J. S. Gaine, Miss Winni- fred Boys and Mrs. Ernest Gaine, Whitby, called on Mrs. Cecil Hill Sunday afternoon, Mr. Leonard Chamberlain, Toronto and Miss Joan Brad- burn, Oshawa spent the week- end with the Joe Bradburns. Mr. and Mrs. George Ruther- ford, Allan and friend, Oshawa, were Sunday guests of Mrs. Alma Fowler.
