Roy Hope, Shirley Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C., Chambers, Richard Douglas and Kelly Lee, children of Mr. and Mrs. D. Rowe. Offering gath- ered by Mr. Robert Snelgrove and Mr. Chas. Willes. Miss Bertha Fear, Toronto who has just returned from an interesting trip in England visited Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fear. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Steinhoff and family, Toronto with Mr. & Mrs. F. Pearce. Mr. and Mrs. Rundgay, Bay Ridges visited with Mr. & Mrs. E. Oyler. Miss Pat Healey, Port Perry is visiting her friend Miss Bon- nie Pugh. They also accompan- ied Mr. and Mrs. M. Pugh and sons to Claremont with Mr. & Mrs. F. Gostick. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Willes were Sunday visitors with the family gathering at Mr. & Mrs. V. Willes, Manchester. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Davis of Kingston with Mr. and Mrs. S. Glass and family. Mr. and Mrs. Les Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dickinson and Judy and Mr. and Mrs. Weber all of Toronto with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Murphy and son. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, Bob- cayvgeon, and Mr. and Mrs. Foley of Cornwall were with' Mr. and Mrs. I. Doyles. Mr. and Mrs. F. Gibson were with friends at a cottage in| Minden district. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hunter, spent couple of days with his | sister Mr. and Mrs. W. Webb.' Haliburton. Mr. Bruce Martyn, a student! at Waterloo spent the week-end | at the Martyn farm. Mrs. C. Mr. and Mrs. N H.: Parker, Halifax, N.S., have been travel- ling around the continent, spent a few days with their relatives Mr and Mrs. F. Brooks & sons. All are pleased to learn Mr. Earl Martyn is home after ten weeks of hospitalization. Two young men of our vill- age Mr. Robt. Cameron and Mr. Fred Olsen are on a moose- hunting jaunt in area of Kirk- land Lake. The following were welcome visitors during the holiday week-end: Mr. and Mrs. O. Jackson, Oshawa with Mr. and Mrs. C. Chambers and family Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hope, New- castle and Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Sturman and children of Osh- awa with their parents Mr. and Mrs. W. Roy Hope. Company with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rowe included Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Len Warriner, Oshawa; Mr. and Mrs. G. Innis and Donna Menzies of Man- hester; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Blain, Cedar Creek; Mr. and Mrs. D. Warriner, Mr. & Mrs. G. Rowe Mr. & Mrs. Ware all of Toronto and Mr. and Mrs. F. Rowland of Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Heayn and family joined the gathering at her parents Mr. & Mrs. Green- 'wood, Huntsville. . Prospect The U.C-W. met at the home of Mrs. J. Holtby on Thursday evening, Oct. 7th- Helen opened the devotional period with the hymn, "Come, ye faithful people, come", followed by the Lord's Prayer, in unison. Willa Holt- by read the scripture lesson from I. Timothy, chapter II. v- 1-6. Kaye Smith's reading "At- tending Church with Gratitude" followed by the hymn, "Sing to the Lord of Harvest", concluded a service of Thanksgiving. The president, Lucille Gray, expressed words of welcome, es- pecially to the visitors, wh o had come on a rainy night. There were the regular reports from Marion Webster, Tot Holtby, and Janet Vernon, also corres- pondence. We hope that as many as possible will attend the Reg- ional Presbyterial .meeting on Oct. 28th in Port Perry United Church, afternoon and evening sessions. Mrs. Ewart Diamond of Brook- lin invited us to her home for the Nov. meeting on the 11th. During the social hour, Hazel Brooks conducted a bicycle con- test, the winners being Helen MacMaster and Lucille Gray. Mrs. Campbell MacMaster of Port Perry entertained with her films of Nassau, Northern Ont. and Eastern Provinces. These were of special interest to all. Willa and Kaye assisted the hos- tess in serving a tasty lunch. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Yeo have returned from a holiday in the" British Isles. During their absence, Mr- and Mrs. F. Brooks managed the service station. Mr and Mrs. Fyon and family of Montreal, spent Thanksgiving with her parents, Mr. and Mrs: Woodhead. Mr. Beverley Vernon, Queen's University was with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Vernoa. Larry and Lori Mark of Port Perry visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Gray, also Mr. and Mrs. Al. Jackson, Brooklin. Mr. and Mrs. Dyle Thomson, Newmarket With her mother, Mrs. Meta Holtby, on Sunday. Mrs. Bernice Hollingsworth and Mrs. Ethel Matthews, Agin- court are visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. B.
