Mrs. Len Smith too has left to spend winter months in Nia- gara. } Wednesday evening, Oct. 20, the October meeting of the U.C.W. was held in the church parlors with fifteen members present. Following first hymn a Thanksgiving article "Open Hand of God", was presented by Mrs. W. Heayn. Scripture and closing prayer given by Mrs. C. Chambers. At this time the president Mrs. Roy Hope welcomed all and chaired the business. Min- utes read by sec'y Mrs. H. Holt- by, also a letter from Hospital School, Orillia informing us that our organization would be sponsoring an eight year old boy whose name is Joseph Bra- den. Various angles were dis- cussed concerning this venture. Mrs. T. Hodgins to over-see that Joseph receive letters or cards from the members from time to time. Mrs. B. Smith reported thirty- two visits made in a month. Mrs. Jewell gave an interesting treasurer's report. Few sug- gestions were voiced towards the betterment of future sup- pers. The committee to arrange for bazaar Nov. 10, are Mrs. Holtby, Mrs. Beacock and Mrs. Snelgrove. Members are also willing to assist Hospital Auxiliary re- garding Spring Fair. The pre- sident prompted us to keep in mind the Fall Rally, Oct. 28, in Port Perry. Dainty lunch served by Mrs. Love and Mrs. Roy A. Hope. Mr. and Mrs. A. Martyn and Mildred and Mr. Jas. Nokes at- tended the well-trained Korean Orphan choir in Oshawa Sun- day. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gibson, Eli- zabeth and Donna, Port Perry were Sunday company with Mr. and Mrs. L. Beacock. Mr. and Mrs. D. Southwell and family, Oshawa were Sun- day visitors with her mother Mrs. Stella Heayn and son Ro- bert. Mr. and Mrs. W.
