HANDICRAFT FALL COURSE By Mabel Cawker The regular monthly meeting of the Louise Patterson Handi- craft Guild was held Wed., Oct. 13th, at the home of Mrs. Sam Arnold, Scugog Island, with the Pres. Mrs. Patterson presiding. The meeting was opened at 2 p.m. with the usual procedure, and an excellent attendance of 19 members, and 1 visitor, were given a cordial welcome. During the correspondence a letter was read confirming the date for the fall course on De- signing, Dyeing, ete, under the instruction of Ted and Margaret Rowan, Vineland Rug experts. The Course will be held in the Presbyterian Church auditori- um, Nov. 26-27th, 10 am. to 9 p.m. Members decided the re- gistration fee would be $3.00 per member to cover expenses. Plans will be completed at the Nov. meeting. - After some discussion it was agreed to leave the Rug and Craft Exhibition over until the new year, as it was felt by members a suitable date for this fall, would be difficult to find, due to so many Bazaars, ete., being held from now until Xmas. GUILD PLANS IN DESIGNING Mrs. Patterson introduced Mrs. Mabel Howsam, who de- monstrated the making of at- tractive wall plaques, out of old records. It was most interest- ing and enlightening, and sev- eral members availed them- selves of the opportunity of making one during the -after- noon, Many thanks Mrs. Howsam for her effort. Some crafts were displayed, and it was noted some ambiti- ous members worked on their rugs during the meeting. The enthusiasm of the group is most heartening.
