Sympathy is extended Mr. & Mrs, Grant Campbell and fam- ily on the death of her father, "Mr. Stewart. ~~* The Cartwright School Board entertained the Teachers and their husbands or wives, also "the Public School Inspector, Mr. and Mrs. Webster and the High School Inspector, Mr. and Mrs. Thom, to a banquet at the Bon » Fire Restaurant in Lindsay on Tuesday evening. Sunday 1.80 p.m. the Cart- wright High School Students' Council entertained the six Grade 13 graduates and their parents and last year teachers . to a banquet at Haugen's Res- taurant, Manchester. Two bus loads of students and friends also some others from this area attended the Royal Winter Fair Saturday. Mrs. George Fowler spent Sunday with the George Ruther- fords, Oshawa, in honor of Al- lan Rutherford's birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Graham and family, Millbrook, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Gibson and family. Mrs. Dalton Dorrell attended the Federation of Agriculture Convention in Toronto on Wed- nesday. Mr. Dorrell and girls joined her Thursday and visit- ed Dr. and Mrs. D. Bilbey. Mrs. L. Bradley, Bowmanville was guest of Mrs, Mervyn Gra- ham for a few days eat week and called on other friends. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Ferguson, Oshawa, visited Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Smith, Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Marwood Me- Kee entertained Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lawson and Bruce, Yelver- ton and Mr. and Mrs. Wannon, Orono, Sunday in honor of the Lawson's wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Cryder- man, Solina, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Larmer Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Larmer and boys visited Mr. Elgin Taylor, Solina, Sunday. Mrs. MacDougald and Mrs. Purdy, St. Mary's, were Monday and Tuesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Larmer and boys. Miss Dianne Wheeler, Osha- wa, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Swain and family. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Archer accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Vin- cent Archer of Bowmanville to Stouffville Sunday afternoon and attended the 50th wedding anniversary of Wilbert's sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Clar- ence Stevens at the home of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Office, regarding the Local Leaders Training School for this year-- "More About Finishes", Mrs. Geo .Barthau reported on re- sults at Port Perry Fair, and also drew attention to the Com- memorative Coffee Spoons available, Orders may be plac- ed with Mrs. Barthau for Ade- laide Hoodless, Sir John A. Mac- Donald, and Provincial. A donation was given to the Hospital Doll Draw, and mem- bers agreed to support the Spring Fair sponsored by the Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Nelson Williams gave a report of the High School Board dinner, and thanked members for assisting. The Resolutions were read & voted on, to be presented at the Area Convention, Mr. Grant MacDonald, Prine cipal of the High School, spoke briefly to the Ladies regarding the various night classes offered by the High School. Quite a discussion was held concerning a programme for re- sidents of Fairview Lodge. This matter was left over until the New Year, Mrs, Roy Cornish who enjoy= ed an extended trip through the European Countries this past summer, delighted the members by taking them on an imagin-« ary tour, to many of the coun- tries she visited. In her usual inimitable style Mrs. Cornish commented on the pictures as she went along. The draw on the hand hooked rug, and cushion was held at the close of the meeting. Pro- ceeds -- $41.00.
