This is the 14th year this pageant has been given and the children look forward eagerly to becoming angels, shepherds, wise men ete. for the occasion. The two central characters, Mary and Joseph, were taken by Nancy Wanamaker and Ken Bertrand. Unfortunately space does not permit us to name 40 individual members but all did their best and the result was a splendid service. Credit this year goes to the committee -- Mrs. M. Bruce, Mrs. Cliff Short, Mrs. Nicholls, Mrs. Barr and Mrs. Chas. Short who used her tal- ents in keeping about 15 pre- schoolers in line. Mr. Harris conducted the worship part of the service, Doug McMillan read the Christmas stories and the choir supplied suitable music. The gifts will be taken to 'Fred Victor Mission, Toronto. A meeting of the newly form- ed Young Peoples was held on Mon., Nov. 29th with 10 mem- bers present. Devotional con- sisted of hymns, prayer by Gord McMillan and Scripture read by John Lloyd. Mr. Harris then showed a film on the Christmas Story and Mrs. Harris gave a talk on Trinidad. At the next meeting on Dec. 18th group will be busy decorating the Christ- mas tree. home of Mr. and Mrs. Rae Rahm, Saintfield on Sunday. Attending from here were: Mrs. Bessie Fishley, Jim, Cecil and the McMillan family. The reason for the early date was that Miss Eva Fishley was starting for a California holiday and would not be in Canada on Christmas day. Word Teceived from Mrs. Robt. Thompson visiting in Scotland, stated that when she arrived she found that the sis- ter whom she had not seen in many years had suffered a stroke and was quite helpless. We doubt if Mr. and Mus. a rabid skunk and so have to injections. These youngsters are the children of Mr. & Mrs. Ross Harding, Lindsay. Mr. Bert Wanamaker has been spending a few days in Port Perry hospital but expects to be home any day now. Our other patient Mr. Milt Stone is showing some improvement too. Mr and Mrs. A. Bertrand en- tertained their son Jim, his wife and family from St. Therese Que. over Sunday. Our congratulations go to father Al. Bertrand who by joining Reach council has taken the first step toward being Prime Minister. Mr. Earl Martyn, Prince Al- bert & his son Bruce of Water- loo University spent Sunday with Mrs. B. Wanamaker and sons, Other Sunday visitors were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Moon at the home place and Mr. & Mrs, Smith of Cambray who came to see their little grand-daughters, Cathie and Karen Carr, take part in the White Gift service. Next week the usual services Manchester A small congregation was in attendance on Sunday morning to hear the very fine sermon by the pastor, Rev. Mr. Teskey. Plans are under way for a spe- cial service on Christmas Eve, when Prospect and Scugog Con- gregations will join us here, There will be a Pageant and Candle light service. White Gift Sunday will be observed Decem- ber 12th, will be held at the usual hours but Christmas Sunday will be marked by something special. They haven't told us what! Mrs, Marian Kendall, Utica visited Mrs. M. Crosier on Thursday evening. Manchester corner, which has been considered hazardous for some years, is now well lighted. Five high powered lights have been installed by the Depart- ment of Highways. Miss Barbara Best deposited her money in the Birthday box at Sunday School. .
