Have a Problem? -- 986-2420 1 PORT PERRY STAR, Thursday, Dec. 16, 1965 --11 UTICA U.CW. NEWS On November 27th amid the sound of familiar Christmas music and a beautifully decor- ated Port Perry Masonic Tem- ple, the Utica U.C.W. held their Christmas Bazaar and Tea. The festivities were opened by our minister Mr. David McKinley, who extended a warm welcome to the guests and thanked each and everyone from the U.C.W. and community who . helped make the bazaar possible. Our first bazaar was a huge success and a great credit to all who worked so hard and long on this project. On behalf of the UCW I would like to extend our most sincere thanks to all the com- munity women who gave us their support in our first large venture. The December meeting of the Utica U.C.W. was held at the heme of the president Mrs. Robert Thorndyke on December the 6th with nine members present. The meeting was opened by Mrs. Thorndyke with the "Thought of the Month". Mrs. Wm. Goslin began the devotion- al with the scripture reading as found in the gospel according to St. Luke of the "Birth of the Christ Child". Six other serip- tures were read by different members following the life of Christ until His Death on Cal- very. Hymn #47 "Oh Come All Ye Faithfull was sung and the devotional was closed by a prayer. The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Thorndyke. All reports were read and ap- proved. All loose ends of busi- ness were dispensed with so that we could start afresh in the New Year. At the close of the business meeting the group watched a film strip with a record for ac- companiment. The film strip was a beautiful illustration of the Birth of the Christ Child. All the members of the group thoroughly enjoyed the even- ing. Mrs. Thorndyke served a most charming lunch by candlelight and the ladies exchanged small gifts. The January meeting will be held in January at the home of Mrs. Larry Kendall. We will be loking for a good turn out to start the New Year on the right foot. I hope all the parents of our Sunday School will be present at the Sunday School concert on Saturday evening December 18, commencing at 8.30.
