One Sunday evening during the Yuletide season Mr, & Mrs. Cecil Newnham played host & hostess to the members of the U.C.W, and their husbands as special guests, Nearly thirty folk were made welcome amid a Christmasy at- mosphere. A round or two of carol singing was first on the program, Mr. T., Hodgins in his usual manner played the roll of M.C. and with the as- sistance of his wife conducted a miscellaneous program. Beacock The customary festive lunch proved dainty and bountiful pro- vided by the executive. Thus ended a memorable evening and thanks to the Newnhams for their liberal share of hospitality, The following folk entertain- ed or were greeted elsewhere: Mr, and Mrs. A. Mr. and Mrs, Sam Oyler have returned from a week in Seattle with Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Doupe, Mr. and Mrs, H, Holtby were Sunday evening dinner guests with relatives Mr. and Mrs. E, Smurthwaite of Concord. Later in the evening they met Miss Patsy Holtby at the Toronto Airport when Patsy returned from a week spent with friends Mr, and Mrs. Fietze and son Duane of Linden, New Jersey. Mr. and Mrs, L. Hunter spent the day with their daughter Mr. & Mrs, C. Kyrytow, and others, Toronto. Next day Mr. & Mrs. L. Hunter entertained Mr. and Mrs. Ray Malcolm, Janetville, Mrs, Arthur Malcolm, Maple Creek, Sask., and sister Miss Cora Crozier of Blackstock, During the holiday Mr. and Mrs. L. Hunter were guests at the Courtemanche - Green wed- ding held in Belleville Presby- terian church, Mr. and Mrs. F. Gibson and Mrs. Sarjantson spent the day with Mr. and Mrs, M, Howsam's group in Port Perry. one Mr, and Mrs. Jas. Heayn and family joined the gathering with his parents Mr, and Mrs. C.
