(Continued on Page 13) Sentence Three For Break-Ins Appearing the Magistrate in Port Perry on Wednesday morning, the three local youths who were arrested and charged with house-break- ing received their sentences. All had been remanded over the holidays and held in cus- tody in Whitby Jail, Gordon McGowan received two years less one day on the house- breaking charges. This is in addition to the sentence of one year definite and six months indefinite he was given by the Court in Whitby several weeks ago for car theft, Robert Peterman also received 2 years less one day on the house-breaking charges. Rose assumed the responsibility for St. John's Anglican Church at Blackstock. Mr. Rose will con- tinue to serve as Rector of the Church of The Ascension, . Port Perry and reside at the Rectory here. Prior to his coming to Port Perry in Oct. 1965, Mr. Rose was Incumbent at Bethany in the Parish of Manvers. He suc- ceeds the Rev. Canon H. E. Ash- more at Blackstock, who appointed to that Parish in June 1960. Canon Ashmore served in the Diocese of Saskatchewan for many' years that Diocese and retired from as Canon Emer- itus. He has been active in Fra-' | first of the three 1-hour ternal Qrders and is a past Grand Master and Sovereign of British North America. Ashmore is also a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. The are indefinite, but they probably retire to the Peterbor- ough area. Mrs. Ashmore is a native of that city. While in the "West" she was president of the W. One of Canon Ashmore's final official acts in Blackstock was to present a class of fifteen candid- ates to Bishop G. B. Snell for Confirmation. The change of Rectors at Blackstock marks the completion of the reorganization of Anglican Parishes in this area.
