Will Supervise Plant In Ireland Mr. R. B. Teskey, B.S.A. Poultry Geneticist at Peel's Poultry Farm Ltd., Port Perry, Ontario, Canada has just left for Lisburn, Northern Ireland and will be there during January. To enable Peel's to offer their broiler breeding stock in the United Kingdom it was necessary that Peel's Poultry Breeders of Canada Ltd, establish a broiler breeding farm in Northern Ireland. Early in 1965 foundation stock was shipped to Ireland in the form of hatching eggs and once hatched the chicks were placed under quarantine and the close supervision of the Minis- try of Agriculture in Ulster for six months. ' Peel's stock has now passed the rigid serological and bac- teriological tests conducted by the Ministry, and Mr. Teskey has gone to Lisburn, Northern Ireland to supervise the final strain selection of the pedigree grandparent lines. ..Commenc- ing in January Peel's is now in a position to offer trial lots of breeding stock and broilers. The Peel's "Canuck" (white fleshed) broiler breeder male and the Peel's #132A broiler breeder female will now be available in the United Kingdom. Dr. D. J. Price, Chairman, Peel's Poultry Breeders of Canada Ltd., will also be in Lisburn this month to discuss future expansion plans on the farm with the Managing Director, Mr; D. G.
