LETTER TO THE EDITOR January 6, 1966 Editor of Port Perry Star, Port Perry, Ontario. Dear Sir: Read with interest the hiring of a third Policeman for the village of Port Perry, With the recent rash of breakins occuring at this time I along with many other residents consider it a proper move. On Tuesday morning TI along with many other businessmen had my car tagged by our effi- cient Police Department. As you are aware these signs have been there for two years now, so the only conclusion I come up with now we have three po- licemen, one of them is being detailed to trot up and down the main street of Port Perry tagging over parked vehicles. This being the case may I sug- gest you relieve one of these able bodied men and have a junior-cadet--at half the salary and use the savings to have a more efficient system of snow removal from the main street, The two mild storms so far this year left Port Perry streets in a shambles, only the mild wea- ther between storms had any effect in removing the snow. ley.
