Romeril expressed thanks for remembrances at Christmas. Meeting closed with Benediction after which a dainty lunch was served by the Dorcas unit and a social tme enjoyed by the 25 lades and one gent present. Some of us shivered a lot this past week when temperature dropped to 20 or 22 below zero. But "its an ill wind that blows no good"--The rirk got going for both skating and Curling-- after such a long wait to get it started this winter. Garage men are kept extra busy getting numerous cars started. Noth- ing to do with the weather, but the night school sewing class under the leadership of Mrs. Lawrence McLaughlin, Home Economist, held in the High 8chool, also the night school welding class in the Township garage, under direction of Mr, day night, The O.N.Q. Club met at the home of Jean Mahaffy Thurs- day night, A letter was read from Scout Master Harold Ha- milton, thanking the Club for the Flag they purchased for the Scouts, The sewing class was announced, also the St. John's Ambulance Course which is to be started very soon. Club vot- ed to make a donation to cover costs of any Guides or Scouts taking this course. The roll call--A New Year's Resolution--was answered by 22 members and one visitor. Aileen Van Camp showed pic- tures of local interest, Lunch was served by the Hostess and Group. Considering the frozen up cars and the number of persons who are indisposed with colds, ete., Church services were well attended Sunday. Rev. Romeril chose as his text--The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom--The choir rendered the Anthem "Hear now my Prayer". In St. John's Church Rev. R. C. Rose preached on the Duties of those in all the Different De- partments of the Church:--The annual election of officers will be held soon. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bryans, Gordie and Stevie visited Mr, and Mrs, Jim Bryans, Courtice, riday. AMr. and Mrs, Barry Duns- Lafioor and family, Brampton, vi- sited the Ken Dunsmoors over the week-end.
