Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Honey of Peterborough with their daugh- ter Judith, were guests of their relatives in the vicinity on Saturday last, Mr, Clarene Nightingale is a patient in Veterans' Hospital, Sunnybrook, Toronto where he is undergoing tests and treat- ment for stomach disorders, Mrs. L, Chapman, Orono, has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cornish during the month of January. Mrs, Nellie Whit- more of Don Mills, spent last weekend with the Cornish fa- mily. Mr. and Mrs, Melvin Wood- cock's week-end visitors were Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Richardson, Brooklin, who accompanied them on Saturday evening to the Benefit Dance at the Port Perry Legion. Port Perry High School is readying itself for its annual social event of the season. All tickets for the "At Home" have been sold. Friday night will bring the usual excitement when a "Queen" and a "Prin- cess" will be picked by the Judges at the High School Dance. HONEYDALE W.L The Honeydale W.I. held their January meeting on Thurs. Jan, 6th in th Anglican Parish Hall, Miss A, Dodd chaired the meet- ing in the absence of the Presi- dent Mrs. G. Robertson. The meeting opened in the usual manner. The roll tall was an- swered with an exchange of re- cipes, if you forgot your recipe you paid the fine. The Secre- tary read the minutes, and the Treasurer gave her report. The correspondence was read- and discussed, Achievement Day for the 4-H Girls was Jan. 15th at the Port Perry High School. The reports of the standing committees were heard, Mrs. McBride reported on the Can- cer work, Mrs, Cawker asked that a program be arranged for Fairview Lodge for sometime in March. . Mrs, W. Moase suggested we have a men & ladies night, The Sentor Citizen's Hall was sug- gested. A committee was ap- pointed to look after same. The meeting was then turned over to Mrs. F, Warren, the Ag- riculture & Canadian Industries convenor for her program, Mrs, Jean Carnochan gave a talk on the Motto "The Mighty Oak from a little acorn grew", ' Mrs. Bryant read a poem "January Recipe", Mrs. Croxall then dis- played her Amway Products.
