To see and love with kindlier eyes anid warmer heart. Until acquainted more with Him and keener-eyed to sense the need of man We serve with larger sacrifice and readier hand our kind." The hymn "The Lord's my light and saving healt ? was sung, Mrs, Murray Holtby read: the scripture lesson from Proverbs 2, vs. 1-9, concluding with prayer. She continued with a meditation "Be a Lamp- lighter" which had inspired Ruskin to say "That is what I mean by a real Christian. You can trace his course by the lamps he sets burning". Wm. J. March stressed the lamps of faith, hope and love. Learn to have faith. Take courage and have hope. Try loving and life will be happier even for you, Try it. Jesus said "He that follow- eth me shall not walk in dark- ness but shall have the light of life." After the dedication of the offering, the hymn "Forth in Thy name, O Lord, I go", con- cluded this period, Mrs, Clare Vernon chaired a short business session of regu- lar routine, including a welcome message, especially to several visitors from Manshester and Port Perry. Mrs. Burnsell Web- ster read the slate of officers for 1966. We were pleased to welcome back, Mrs. Meta How- sam, a former school-teacher, who had come to entertain us with her colored pictures of Hawaii and Alaska, where she toured last summer. Her inter- esting commentary was very in- formative and relaxing, Mrs. Bruce Holtby expressed our ap- preciation to Mrs. Howsam for her kindness in sharing these trips with us (although it was real cold outside). An Evening Prayer was sung and everyone retired to the S.S. room for social fellowship and refreshments, served by Mes-| dames Jean and Tot Holtby and Maude Vernon, We were pleased to see one of our local, prosperous farmers, Mr, Leslie Smith, featured on the T.V. programme "This Busi- ness of Farming", pertaining to "Growing Feed for Livestock", last Tuesday, a.m. Intermediate Hockey League Standing WESTERN DIVISION GPW L T Pts Cobourg .... .... 1714 1 2 80 Sunderland ... 16 10 5 0 20 Uxbridge ........ 18 7 6 1 1b *L.
