Thomas--1799, Annual Meeting of the CARTWRIGHT AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY to be held in THE TOWNSHIP HALL, BLACKSTOCK JANUARY 29th, 1966 at 2 p.m. New active members solicited W Wright, V Malcolm, Pres. Retiring Secretary Mrs. Maud Boe in Bowmanville on Wednesday, She was well known here having lived mid- way between Greenbank and Seagrave during her married life and -early widowhood, We extend sympathy to the family whom we know so well, Our sympathy also goes to the Bryant family and particu- larly to Mrs. Minnie Bryant whose brother Mr, Irwin Wotten Oshawa, passed away on Mon- day. Unit 2 U.C.W. held their first meeting of the year on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. Butt. Mrs, Morley Bruce was chosen group leader and Mrs. Belair, sec.-treas. for 1966, Plans are being made for a spe- cial evening later in the season. Mr, J. Durward has returned 7 home much improved after his short stay in hospital. _ Mr. and Mrs, Lloyd Somer- ville, Brooklin entertained in honour of Mr .and Mrs. Elwood Clements on Saturday evening, the occasion being the Clements 36th wedding anniversary. At- tending from here were the Au- brey Moon family, . Mr. and Mrs, Morley Bruce and family spent Sunday after- noon with grandmother, Mrs. R. Stinson, Bowmanville. Mr, and Mrs. Robt, Brinkman, Gina and Chucky, Port Perry, were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Belair on Saturday. In spite of, or because of Sunday's snowy weather the S. S. had a record attendance, For the first time there were more than 100 present (101 to be exact). The "In-Between" class was responsible for a part of the worship so three small lads -- Calvin Nicholls, Robbie Abraham and Larry Short, sang " "Jesus Loves Me" and did it well. Our rookie supt. Mr. * Lawrence A, Nicholls was in charge for the first time and acquitted himself well. We miy- sed the super - supt, Neil Wana- maker who we are told was week-ending in Toronto. Con- tributions of birthday money were made by Wendy Monahan and Donna Drinkwalter, All Flavours CAKE MIXES 2 ve: 79: Duncan Hines DeLuxe Save 19¢ Heniz -- Save 13ec.
