Another course is to be held on "Accents on Accessories". Mrs. Ralph Larmer and Mrs. Henry Wotten tend the training course Feb. 17 & 18. There was a discussion re park activities. Decided to have a bazaar in the spring. Mrs. Stanford Van Camp pre- sided for the programme--Mrs. Marwood McKee gave the cur- rent events. On Friday evening members of the Blackstock United Church Sunday School, The Primary Superintendent Mrs. B, Gunter, The Superintendent Mr. Glenn Larmer and Mrs, Larmer, the teacher and 13 members of the Senior Class attended the Sab- bath Eve Service at the Syna- gogue n Oshawa. Rabbi Kut- ziner made the group welcome and explaind the meaning of many of the Symbols used in Jewish Worship. The Group together with a group of Young People from Tyrone joined the Congregation in their Service after which they were enter- tained with coffee and cookies and were able to talk with members of the Congregation. They were able to learn a great deal which cannot be learned by reading. Schools competing included Bowmanville High School, Courtice High School, 'Clarke High School and Cart- wright High School, The C.H.,S. teams were made up as follows --Ray Mountjoy, Skip; Helen Swain, Vice-skip, Floyd Kyte, second and Judy Swain, lead. Ron Martyn, Skip; Sheila Tom- chishin, Vice-skip; Bob .Kyte, second and Joan Horton, lead, Ray Mountjoy's team had a win against Clarke in the first game 12-2 but lost out to Cour- tice 8-4 in the second game. Ron Martyn's team lost to Courtice in their first game 8-3 but had a win against Bowman- ville 8-1 in the second game. The students are to be compli- mented on their fine showing in this bonspiel -- especially since it was their first experience on artificial ice.
