Teskey presented some Jr. mem- bers of the Sunday School with Obituary ORVAL STONE A man, very well known, es- pecially to farmers of the dis- trict was Mr, Orval Stone who passed away after a compara- illness, on "Sat., Feb. 19, 1966, at the Commun- ity Hospital, Port Perry. The late Mr. Stone, who would have reached his 84th birthday in June, was born on Scugog Island, the son of the late Mr, and Mrs, Jas. Stone, He spent his early years on the Island and 'about 60 years ago, married Ethel Hood, also of Scugog. Their family con- | sisted of four sons:-- Garfield and Wilbert now living at Sea- grave and Murwin and Mansel of Port Perry. 1S 1919 Mr, and Mrs. Stone bought the Orchard farm at the lake- ce-sHore on the 12th Conces- sion of Reach and there the fa- mily lived until 1943 'when Mr. and Mrs. Stone retired to Port Perry. After a lingering illness Mrs. Stone. died in May 1954 and after five-years Mr. Stone mar- ried the former Mabel Cook of Port Perry, who survives. him, He is also survived by his four sons, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. ° x. Mr. Stone's one great inter- est in life was farming, and he was widely known as an indus- trious worker as well as a shrewd judge of livestock. Even after retirement and until he became ill in December he made frequent trips to the farms. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. A. Rice,--Port Perry, was in McDermott-Panabaker Chapel with interment taking place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. Pall-bearers were four grandsons: Messrs. Ross, Ivan, Glenn and Joseph Stone, assist- ed by Mr. Fred Phinney and 'Mr. Claire Watts, husbands of two of Mr. Stone's grandaugh- ters.
