A group of our young men went Smelt fishing last Friday evening and apparently had a lot of fun and a fair catch. Mr .and Mrs. Keith Steward and family were with Mr, and Mrs, T. Stewart. Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Hough- land and family enjoyed dinner on Sunday with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Taylor. Kevin Acton of Stouffville visited his cousin Neil Evans for the first half of the Easter An- the home of his aunt and uncle Mr, and Mrs. Gerald Acton for a few days, Mr Bill Stearman of Grimsby visited with his aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerry for the past week. Kerry Monday evening, CARTWRIGHT Hockey News After winning the game on April 10th by the score of 5-3, the Blackstock Bantams faced the last game of the best of five series needing only a tie to win the Port Perry Bantam House League trophy. In the 1st period at 7.05 Car- negie scored for Greenbank. Trailing 1-0 the Blackstock team put on the pressure which paid off with a goal by Mark Malcolm at 11.20. At 11.45 Paul Mappin sent a blazing shot into the Greenbank net and the period ended 2-1 for Blackstock. Shortly after the second period got underway Bryan 'Wolfe scored from Don Wright and Dennis Romeril to make it 3-1 for Blackstock, which held to the end of the second period. On a breakaway Carnegie scored for Greenbank for his second goal of the game at 8.45 before Rommeril took a perfect pass from G, McLaughlin to put the game out of reach at 18.16 of the third period, Three pen- alties were called in the third period, Carnegie and Lee for roughing and Mark Malcolm for Hooking. And so ended another game 4-2 for Blackstock -- An- other play off 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie.
