HAROLD SW4 IN Frances Josephine A age 54, a well known and highly re- spected resident of Cartwright passed away quite suddenly in Oshawa General Hospiial April 16, 1966, A daughter of Mrs. L. E. Mountjoy and the late Mr, L,. E.{ Mountjoy, Frances was porn near Blackstock, received' her education in Blackstock Public end High Schools, When united in marriage with Harold Swain February 14, 1936 she just mov- ed a mile and together they operated his farm, where they still resided. In barlier years ' ARIES she was active in young peo- ples work, taught young girl's class 'in Sunday School, a real worker in the W.A., Secretary of Women's Institute and a kind loving helpmate, mother and friend of all who knew her. The last few years, due to health conditions she had to drop many activities in church and community. Surviving are her husband, Harold, two sons Jack of Osh- awa and Jim and daughter Helen at home; her mother Mrs. L. Mountjoy, Oshawa; Brother Lawrence Mountjoy, Warkworth Sister (Grace) Mrs, Wm. JOB GRAHAM After a lingering illness of over three years, Maretta W. Byam, beloved wife of the late Job Graham, passed peacefully away at the home of her daugh- ter, Mrs. Reg. Boundey, 211 Scugog St., Port Perry, Ont. on April 18th, 1966, in her 100th year. ' She was born in this vicinity in 1866, was educated at Port Perry High School and Ottawa Normal School. She followed the teaching profession a num- ber of years, and married Job Graham June 7, 1898, They farmed on the Graham home- stead until their retirement in 1928. She was a life-long member of the United Church, In her early married life at Bethel (near Shirley) where she was Sunday School Superintendant for 'many years. She leaves to mourn the pass- ing of an inspiring life, two children. Courtney of Purple Hill, Frances (Mrs. Reg. Boun- dey, Port Perry), 2 grand- children, Joyce (Mrs. Gerald Kelly, Blackstock), Harvey of Purple Hill and five great- grandchildren -- Cheryl, Blair, Mark and Robert Graham and Elizabeth Anne Kelly, The Memorial Service was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Alec Rice at the McDermott- Panabaker Funeral home. The pall bearers were Russel Coates, Wilbur Vance, Wilbur Toms, Sandy Moore, Earl Wallace and Leonard Clark. Interment was made in Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert, GEORGE HENRY LANE George H. Lane passed away very suddenly of a heart attack at his home at Port Bolster on March 24, 1966. He was in his 68th year. Mr, Lane was the eldest of four sons of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lane of Oshawa. In 1919 he married the former Vivian Christie and since then has lived in the Oshawa and Port Perry areas except for re- siding seven years in Windsor, Some six months ago he moved to Port Bolster. Mr, Lane was an employee of General Motors for 82 years and just retired in 1968. Mr. Lane is survived by his wife Vivian and eleven children, Mrs. Herb Howard (Evelyn) of Copper Cliff; Mrs, Grant Frank- lin (Ethel) of Port Perry; Mrs, Glenn Williams (Verna) of Stoney Creek; Mrs. John Pol- lard (Helen) and Mrs, Geo. Mahaffy (Gladys) both of Port Perry; Donald of Oshawa; Stuart, Wes,, Roy, Eric and Ross, all of Port Perry.
