Dowson The marriage took place re- cently (May 14, 1966, at 3.30 p.m.) in Simcoe Street United Church, Oshawa, of Maureen Beverly McMaster, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Rae C. McMaster, 67 La Salle Ave., Oshawa, to Mr. Kenneth M, Dowson, son of Mr, and Mrs. E. Merlin Dowson, Rosa St., Port Perry, Ont. Rev, John K. Moffat offici- ated and Mr. Ross Cotton, Osh- awa was soloist and Mr. R. Geen accompanied. The bride;--mi in marriage by her {father, wore a full length Jae peau" de soie gown fashioned with a bateau neckline, short sleeves, and the empire waistline bodice and A- line skirt were appliqued with chantilly lace embroidered with seed pearls. It was enhanced by a monk's cape over the shoul- ers which fell into a train, both edged with scalloped chantilly lace and richly embroidered with pearls. Her headdress was a soft white rose and lily of the val- ley which held an elbow length bouffant scalloped veil of tulle, She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and fern. The matron-of-honour was Mrs, Charles Willes, Prince' Al- bert, Ont. The bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Dowson, Port Perry & Miss Janet McMaster, Oshawa. The ring bearer was Robby Bickle, Fineicane St., Oshawa. The_best man was Mr, Char- les Willes, Prince Albert. The ushers were Mr. Donald | Gibson, Port Perry and Mr. James Dowson, Port Perry. The reception was held at Adelaide House, -Oshawa. in Simcoe Street United x Oshawa, Mrs. Kenneth M. Dowson, the former Maureen B. McMaster was feted at sev- eral showers. About 30 Alene & friends were entertained at a miscel- laneous shower for the bride at the home of Mrs, Wilmer Closs, La Salle Ave. and assisted by Mrs. Dave Russell and Mrs. Fred Etcher. An aunt of the bridégroom, Mrs. Robert Vernon, Port Perry, assisted by Miss Marianne Ver- non and Mrs. Robert Vernon Jr. entertained friends at a kitchen shower and made a presentation of a set of cookware and gifts of kitchen gadgets. Co-workers of the bride at Sklar Furniture held a miscel- laneous shower in the Whitby Legion Hall.
