The parade featured for the first time four clowns who added a lot to the enjoy- ment of both the young and the not so young, as they danced & handed out balloons and suckers --an amusing incident happened when a person stepped into the street and performed a lively dance with one of the clowns. The parade was made up with 28 softball teams, two bands, decorated vehicles and of course the clowns, At the ball park the Pipe Bands put on a small display while the young softball players lined around the outfield fence. The reeve of Port Perry, Mr. J. J. Gibson spoke to the fans and ball players and officially opened the Softball Season, Mr. M. B: Dymond spoke to the crowd and congratulated the Association for the fine par- ade. and the way. they have supplied © reereation for the youth of Port Perry.
