In the first game they met Richmond Hill and came out on the short end of a 20 to 2 ball game. Richmond Hill scored 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back. Tom Olsen went the distance for the Le- gion team and couldn't be fault- ed for the loss. His team mates made too many errors and were not up for 'this game as they played loosely in the first inn- ing then played better as the game progressed. Richmond Hill were a strong ball club and hitting and fielding well. In the second game Port Perry played Woodstock and although playing better they lost out 12 to 8, Jim Ashbridge pitched this game and was very steady but Woodstock hit well and came up with sharp field- ing. Rod MacLennen was the best hitter Port had as his three run homer accounted for the runs. Glenn McCoy played well: and also looked good at bat. The Port Perry Legion had .| won this tournament last year but this year the team has been rebuilt. The boys on Saturday weré playing in their first Legion Squirts Participate In Newmarket Tournament tournament and now they know that they have to be sharp to win against. these fine Squirt teams in the province. A good delegation of fans were on hand from Port Perry: to support the boys, Next tournament for these boys is on July 30 at Preston so thé Legion boys will have another chance to try to bring a winner to Port Perry.
