Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. Lloyd Payne and Mrs. Bruce Houghland. There was a very pretty wed- ding in our church on Saturday when Miss Donna Tripp was united in 'marriage with Mr. Ross Lane. Aldred, girls from Port Perry and Blackstock all 15 years or under who formed a team to play in a softball tournament for the first time and won the Zion B Championship at Zion on Saturday. Service the twenty-fifth will be at 11.15 a.m. U.C.W, ladies will be in charge of the meeting. 4-H CLUB PORT PERRY 4-H DAIRY CALF AND GRAIN CLUBS The Port Perry 4-H Dairy Calf and Grain Clubs held their achievement day in conjunction with Port Perry Fair on Mon- day, September 5. : Forty-one 4-H calf club meim- bers brought -out their entries in excellent condition, result- ing in a 95% turnout for the Port Perry club. The juldge," Mr. Arnold Wea- ver of Belmont, Ontario, gave reasons for his top three or four placings in each class. Mr. Weaver was also the judge of the Black and White Show at the fair. The Canadian Imperial Bank of. Commerce Special, awarded to the boy or girl obtaining the highest points in showmanship, was won this year by Alex Leask, R.R. 2, Uxbridge. Fourteen members of the Port Perry 4-H Grain club also exhibited their grain at the fair. This year the 4-H grain show included classes for both oats and barley. The three top grain exhibits in each class are being retain ed by the Department of Agri- culture as potential entries for Markham Fair and the Royal Winter Fair.
