Scout & Guide Assoc. Hold Annual Meeting The Annual Meeting of the Boy Scout & Girl Guide Group | Committee was held on Satur- day evening, Oct. 22, at the Scout Hall in the form of a Pot Luck Supper with 28 persons attending, including the group committee members, leaders and ladies auxiliary members. Chairman Bill Williams was in charge and welcomed all pre- sent to the meeting. In the absence of the treas- urer, it was reported that the Association is in sound financ- ial position and the building is in good state of repair. Mr. Peter Dent and Mr. Robert Weller, fellow stu- dents at York University and Mr. David Watt, brother of the bride, were the ushers. Following the wedding cere- mony a reception was held at the home of the bride's par- ents. Calder of Nipawin, Sask. The Bridesmaids were Miss Gail Morris of Peace River Alberta and Miss Mary Jane Crosier of R.R. #2, Blackwater, Ont, The couple reside im Estevan, Sask. '| 66 Guides, 'candy sale, Banquets and Mother and Dau- ghter Banquets catered to. A rummage and bake sale realiz- ed additional funds. Mrs. Ruby Roach, Division Commissioner, in the absence of the District Commissioner, Mrs, Mary Enge, presented the 'report for the Girl Guide Ass- ociation. There are two active Guide Companies, 3 Brownie "Packs and one Ranger Comp- any. The 2nd Guide Company was recently closed temporar- ily, owning to lack of leaders. The total enrolment comprises 70 Brownies, 14 Rangers, 2 Guide Captains, 1 Lieutenant, 3 Brown Owls, 2 Tawny Owls and 1 Ranger Captain. . - Guide activities included, hikes, cookouts, bus trips to Niagara Falls and Toronto, Christmas party for the residents ,of Fairview Lodge, with the accompanying _ | presentations of gifts and of homemade Christmas cakes. The proceeds from the Annual Easter Egg sale enabled the 'Guides to take the above trips. girls received their 'Gold Cord during the year, 10- Guides attended a 7 days camp. at Camp Adelaide, Haliburton, 5 others attended outside camps and one attended Heritage Camp. Two girls are present- ly in training as Cadets and will upon completion of two ers. The Boy Scout Organization includes: 3 Cub Packs, 1 Scout Troop and 1 Rover Crew. C Packs good turn consisted of cleaning up the fair grounds nice donation for their efforts. A chartered bus took some 656 cubs, junior and senior scouts, fathers and mothers to Pioneer Vilage- at Woodbridge and the destroyer.
