The reason for Mr. Dowson being present at the meeting, was to find out the levels of the ditch and the storm sewers on Paxton Street where the hospital will be located. Mr. Dowson explained that the new hospital site is in an area of sub-division control, and plans to develop this street had not yet been made." Further- more, the council could not at this time be sure if the area was to be serviced by sewers. However, a motion was pass- ed to have the County Engineer look into the matter-and draw the levels for the construction of Paxon Street, from Rosa to Simcoe Street. | Hospital Report | Week Ending November 26th Admissions cee, 21 Operations ..........cveeininnnene 18 Emergency Treatment .. 6 Births vovercerssessrmresisinees 3 Deaths cir cririe riveree Nil Discharges .....c.cceevveeen 24 Remaining ......coovveennnne. 22. TAR VOLUME 102° PORT" PERRY, ONT., THURSDAY, DECEMBER Ist, 1966 (os) | NUMBER | Forty-five interested persons turned out for Port Perry's nomination meeting held at the Municipal Office last Monday evenirg. This was the best showing at a nomination meet- ing for the past several years, but considering that there are 1,626 eligible -municipak voters in Port Perry, 1 think that something is lacking when such a small percentage show inter- est as to how the town's busi- ness is conducted. Ratepayers in Port Ferry as well as all municipalities are quick to condemn and criticize if the town fathers do some- thing that is not to their lik- ing. This year an election will be 'held for council, with six candidates contesting the three seats. Reeve J. J. Gibson was again returned by acclamation for a two vear term, while Bruce Beare, who has served on the council for the past five years will be the new Deputy- Deputy Reeve--Bruce F. Beare Reeve.
