According to chief Cameron, no single incident as-far as dis- occured. The Firemen had one call on Wednesday, Dec. 28th, to the home of Howard Hammond, R.R.72, Seagrave. The residents of this community will have to show interest, take part in celebrations planned by the com- mittee, in order to make the Centennial Year a success. Bells were ringing, sirens sounded, andgiguns were roaring from coast to coast, when Canada began cele- brations of its Centennial Year, at midnight, Saturday. This will be a great year for Canada, and 'so it should be for Port Perry and communities around. The new addition to the Arena, Port Perry's Centen- nial Project is progressing well and almost completed. In the near future a meeting will be called to form a Centennial Committee, to make plans for further celebrations during the year.
