On Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5th the U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Margaret Croxall, with an attendance of eighteen mem: bers and one visitor. Mrs. Croxall opened the meet- ing with an appropriate call to worship. Hymn "Jesus Shall Reign Where'ere the Sun" was used, followed by 23rd psalm in unison. Mrs. Ethel Franklin read the scripture and Mrs. Croxall the Meditation. Mrs. Croxall and her group served a delicious lunch. Congratulations to Mr. Tony Vandervoort who celebrated a birthday on Saturday. Mr. Grant Christie is holiday- ing with relatives in Florida. We are glad to know Mrs. Florence Mitchell is home from Oshawa Hospital, where she had eye surgery. The many friends of Mrs. Anne Spears were shocked to hear of her sudden death. Deepest sympathy goes to her daughter Gerri(Mrs. Doug Aird) son Murray of Oshawa and to her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Crozier. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchell, Ottawa, Mr. and Mrs. Len Ro- berts, Barrie and Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hitchins, Oshawa, were gugsts of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mitchell on the week-end. OCCASIONALLY? At noon all went to the Rio Restaurant, Port Perry for din- ner, after which they re-con-|" vened at Hall in Blackstock where Rev. R. C. Rase brought a brief message to the assembly directing members of Council to the importance of working in conjunction with members of senior groups of Govern: ment--Regional, Provincial and Federal.
