Secretary and Treas- urer's reports were received. The club was asked to organize the Father and Son Banquet, since the Mother's Auxiliary has disbanded. The roll call was-- My Favorite Dessert -- Each member wrote a Valentine poem, which was passed to an- other member and read aloud by her. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess and her group. The Annual Vestry meeting of St. John's Church was held Monday, Feb. 13th. Rev. R. C. Rose opened the meeting with prayer and chaired the meet- ing. Reports from all depart- ments were given showing all 'in healthy condition. Mr. Jack Hamilton reported that the re- novation and new addition to Parish Hall is practically com- pleted and financially cared for. The officers for 1967 are the same as in 1966. . In St. John's Church Sunday morning, due to Rev. Rose hav- ing laryngitis, Rev. Mansfield of Port Perry--Probation Offi. cer for Ontario County -- took charge of the service and de- livered a splendid sermon on Faith. The Anglican Young Peoples held a supper meeting in the Anglican Parish Hall Sunday evening. In the United Church Sun- day morning Rev. Romeril de- livered a most impressive ser- mon on "Jesus Last Will and Testimony" stressing "My Peace I leave with you". The choir sang an Anthem entitled "Lord I have shut the Door". The Anglican organized a Junior A. C. W. at the home of Mrs. Roy Cordon Feb. 2nd with following officers:-- President: Mrs. Lawrence McLaughlin; Vice-president: Mrs. Don' Green; Secretary-Treasurer: Mrs. Neil Bailey. Thursday, Feb. 16th a meeting was held at Mrs. Bai- ley's when Rev. Rose attended and administered communion. Cartwright Pee Wee's won Consolation in Little N.H.L. Tournament at Millbrook. In the first game the boys lost to a strong Cannington team by the score of 12-2. Cart- wright dressed 15 players and gave all the boys ice time. Can- nington kept McLish and Nich- olson on the ice continuously. In the second game the boys had no trouble with Little Bri- tain, wrapping in 7 unanswered goals, The third line of Miller, B. Tomchishin, and Walker was used extensively. This line out- played the Little Britain boys with B. Tomchishin scoring. Six of the other boys scored, garnering one goal apiece. The third game against Oak- wood was a tremendously tough game, but the boys came out on top 4-3 with our fine left-winger getting a hat trick. With two minutes left, two Oak- wood forwards broke in all a- lone, but Huntington out guess- ed them and came up with the score to save the game. The boys now meet the Con- solation winners from the north at Keene on March 4th. Sorry to hear Mr. H. Buma had the msifortune of breaking a wrist during the week while These two Cannington boys are fine 11 and 12 year old Hockey players. mm A.W. President Comrade Nora Read conducted the opening cere- mony, followed by the roll call of officers and executive. Installation of the 2nd Vice President Comrade M. Nightin- gale, and two members of the executive committee, Comrades Vera Knott and June Symes was carried out by Past Presi- dent Comrade Gwen Ballingall. Minutes of the Jan. general meeting were read and adopted and the financial report was given, bills were passed, for payment. "Correspondence was read, several letters of thanks were received from veterans' widows who had . received Christmas gifts from the Auxiliary, also a letter from the Zone Sport's officer concerning the Bowling tournament to be held in Osh- awa' ton March 11th, we shall Be sending one team. It is hoped that these monthly draws will kglp replenish the Welfare Fund, which was pretty well depleted at Christmas time. Comrade M. Nightingale was appointed to represent the Ladies Auxiliary on the Centen- nial Committee. There being no burther busi- ness the meeting was adjourn- ed.
