Everyone in his right mind wants to see the fighting in Vietnam stop. But, as writer Ernest Heming- way said when urged by a So- viet contemporary to sign a pe- tition condemning U.S. policies in Vietnam: "You ask us to condemn half a war -- OUR HALF! I beg of you-to ask YOUR people to join us in condemning ALL war and to stop sending machines of death through North Vietnam for use against the South!" To that I can only say 'Amen.' Certainly no credance can be given a one-sided view of the Vietnam war which consistant- ly sees our American neigh- boures as the Wicked Witch of the West and communist North-- --------%---- Vietnam as the sweet, innocent Dorothy.
